This is a whale-shaped pottery bowl. It was created with the image of a whale swimming gracefully through the sea. The striped pattern on its belly is made using the nerikomi technique—combining different colored clays to form patterns. Thanks to this method, you can enjoy the stripe design not only on the outside but also on the inside of the bowl. The inside is coated with a transparent glaze, giving it a glossy finish that’s easy to clean and practical for everyday meals. The exterior is left unglazed to highlight the whale’s form, offering a rough, textured surface that enhances the warm, earthy feel unique to clay.
